{"id":6903,"date":"2023-11-16T15:11:19","date_gmt":"2023-11-16T13:11:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/support.withsecure.com\/?post_type=announcement&#038;p=6903"},"modified":"2026-10-19T13:06:57","modified_gmt":"2026-10-19T10:06:57","slug":"password-requirements-change","status":"publish","type":"announcement","link":"https:\/\/support.withsecure.com\/en\/announcements\/password-requirements-change\/","title":{"rendered":"Password requirements change"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Updates:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2023-12-18:<\/strong> The password requirements have now been changed (details below)<\/p>\n<p>From <strong>Monday 18th December 2023<\/strong> onwards, we will be <strong>changing the minimum requirements<\/strong> for passwords for WithSecure Elements.<\/p>\n<p>The new rules are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have at least 10 characters<\/li>\n<li>Must have a mix of upper and lower-case letters (A-Z, a-z)<\/li>\n<li>Must contain at least one numeric digit (0-9)<\/li>\n<li>Must contain at least one special character\n<ul>\n<li>Allowable characters are from the following list  !&#8221;#$%&amp;'()*+,-.\/:;&lt;=&gt;?@[]^_`{|}~<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Existing accounts and passwords are not affected, but these rules will apply to all new accounts, and password changes to existing accounts.<\/p>\n<p>WithSecure recommends the use of strong and unique passwords on all websites.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Updates: 2023-12-18: The password requirements have now been changed (details below) From Monday 18th December 2023 onwards, we will be changing the minimum requirements for passwords for WithSecure Elements.
