Additionally clarified some aspects of controlling the software updates with MDMs, and providing a script to handle situations where old and new clients are installed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2024-04-08:<\/strong> Include instructions for JAMF configuration<\/p>\n<p><strong>2024-04-03: <\/strong>Updated WithSecure System Extension sample profile<\/p>\n<p><strong>2024-02-15: <\/strong>Documented changes in product activation.<\/p>\n<h2 data-id=\"background\">Background<\/h2>\n<p>We have now released a new version of our Mac software for WithSecure Elements, WithSecure Countercept.<\/p>\n<p>As part of these releases, it is important to note that several things have changed.<\/p>\n<h2 data-id=\"changes-in-network-server-addresses\">Changes in network server addresses<\/h2>\n<p>For system and network administrators who tightly control their infrastructure\u2019s ability to contact external servers, we strongly advise that they review the <a href=\"https:\/\/community.withsecure.com\/en\/kb\/articles\/31209-network-addresses-for-withsecure-products\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">list of Server address changes<\/a> at the WithSecure Community<\/p>\n<h2 data-id=\"changes-in-browser-extensions\">Changes in Browser Extensions<\/h2>\n<p>Clients will also use WithSecure browser extensions. These can be found at:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/community.withsecure.com\/home\/leaving?allowTrusted=1&amp;target=https%3A%2F%2Fchrome.google.com%2Fwebstore%2Fdetail%2Fbrowsing-protection-by-wi%2Fimdndkajeppdomiimjkcbhkafeeooghd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">Chrome Webstore<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/community.withsecure.com\/home\/leaving?allowTrusted=1&amp;target=https%3A%2F%2Faddons.mozilla.org%2Fen-US%2Ffirefox%2Faddon%2Fols-withsecure%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener ugc\">Firefox Browser Add-ons<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>If you use MDM or group policies to manage browser extensions it is recommended to allow or preinstall these extensions in advance.<\/p>\n<p>You can use following IDs for MDM profiles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Google Chrome: imdndkajeppdomiimjkcbhkafeeooghd<\/li>\n<li>Mozilla Firefox:\n<ul>\n<li>Extensions to install: https:\/\/download.withsecure.com\/online-safety\/ws_firefox_https.xpi<\/li>\n<li>Prevent extensions from being disabled or removed: ols_main@withsecure.com<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The older F-Secure extension IDs can be removed from MDM later in May after the product upgrade to version 24.1.<\/p>\n<h2 data-id=\"changes-in-product-activation\">Changes in Product Activation<\/h2>\n<p>To activate the product using the\u00a0activator\u00a0tool, enter the following command:<\/p>\n<p><code class=\"code codeInline\" spellcheck=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\">\/Library\/WithSecure\/bin\/activator --subscription-key \"&lt;subscription key&gt;\"<\/code><\/p>\n<h2 data-id=\"vpn-posture-check\"><strong>VPN posture check<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If your organization implements VPN posture check to ensure that the agent is running before allowing a connection, please adjust the rule to follow the new process name &#8216;wssensord&#8217; (instead of &#8216;fssensord&#8217; used in older product versions) located at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Elements: &#8216;\/Library\/WithSecure\/ultralight\/bin\/com.withsecure.ultralight.wssensord.xpc\/Contents\/MacOS\/wssensord&#8217;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>MDR: &#8216;\/Library\/WithSecure-mdr\/ultralight\/bin\/com.withsecure.ultralight.wssensord.xpc\/Contents\/MacOS\/wssensord&#8217;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-id=\"changes-in-mdm-configurations\">Changes in MDM configurations<\/h2>\n<p>For customers who use MDM systems to control their IT environments, the following information is required in order to correctly manage the new clients.<\/p>\n<h3 data-id=\"update-team-id-bundle-ids\">Update Team ID \/ Bundle IDs<\/h3>\n<p>Replace the current Team ID from <strong>6KALSAFZJC<\/strong> with <strong>V928P8X763<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Change the Elements Agent Bundle ID from <strong>com.f-secure.fsmac.gui<\/strong> to <strong>com.withsecure.wsagent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Update the previous System Extension Bundle ID from <strong>com.f-secure.fsmac.gui.FSCSystemExtension<\/strong> to <strong>com.withsecure.wsagent.wssystemextension<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If you are using MDR, change the MDR Agent Bundle ID from <strong>com.f-secure.mdr.fsmac.gui<\/strong> to <strong>com.withsecure.mdr.wsagent<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 data-id=\"new-installation-locations\">New installation locations<\/h3>\n<p>The installation location of the Elements Agent client binaries has been changed from<strong>\u00a0\/Library\/F-Secure<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0<strong>\/Library\/WithSecure\/bin<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>The path within the Applications folder has now changed to <strong>\/Applications\/WithSecure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For Countercept Agent, paths are now changed to\u00a0<strong>\/Library\/WithSecure-mdr <\/strong>and <strong>\/Applications\/WithSecure-mdr<\/strong> correspondingly.<\/p>\n<h3 data-id=\"important-notes\">Important Notes<\/h3>\n<p>We strongly recommend creating two sets of MDM profiles. Maintain the old profiles until all devices update to the latest version.  Once all devices have been updated to the new client software, the old MDM profile can be removed.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, you can rely on the built-in product upgrade mechanism to get latest version automatically. For that, if your MDM enforces the installation when the product is detected as missing, please update the rule which detects the software so that it considers the identifier of the product taking both old and new bundle IDs and installation locations from the paragraphs above.
