The total size of the update package will be ~63MB.<\/p>\n<p>We will soon be releasing a major update for our Capricorn engine, used by our Endpoint Protection products. This is expected to be released on September 17th 2025.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Improvements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Optimized database &amp; extended machine learning<\/strong> \u2192 reducing pattern file sizes while maintaining the same high detection rate.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Component size reduction of more than 40%<\/strong> \u2192 from <strong>210 MB<\/strong> down to <strong>126 MB<\/strong> total.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Faster initialization &amp; lower memory consumption<\/strong> \u2192 improving overall performance on endpoints.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Update Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Expected <strong>update delta size<\/strong>: ~<strong>79 MB<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Platform coverage<\/strong>: This update applies to <strong>all WithSecure Endpoint Protection products <\/strong>that utilize the <strong>Capricorn engine<\/strong> \u2014 across <strong>Windows, Mac and Linux platforms<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Download size<\/strong>: All affected endpoints will now download a <strong>larger one-time update package of approximately 79 MB<\/strong> during the rollout.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Deployment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The update will be <strong>delivered automatically<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>No manual action or configuration<\/strong> is required.<\/li>\n<li>The release time will be confirmed 24 hours in advance through our community channels.<\/li>\n<li>Updates containing this release will start with &#8220;WithSecure Capricorn Engine (2025-09-xx-xx)\u201d<\/li>\n<li>With this update, you can expect <strong>leaner, faster, and more efficient endpoint protection<\/strong> \u2014 without compromising security.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UPDATE 2025-09-16: The update is expected to be released on 17th September 2025, with version &#8220;WithSecure Capricorn Engine (2025-09-17_01).
