Before you can submit an Elevate request, you need the following in place.<\/p>\n<h6 class=\"sub-heading\">Required subscriptions and software<\/h6>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li><strong>Elements EDR subscription<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Elevate works with Broad Context Detections generated by WithSecure\u2122 Elements Endpoint Detection and Response. An active EDR subscription is required.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Elements Agent deployed<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 At least one WithSecure\u2122 Elements Agent must be installed and reporting on the devices you want to cover.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Elevate add-on subscription<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Elevate is token-based. Each request consumes either a\u00a0<strong>Validation Token<\/strong>\u00a0or an\u00a0<strong>Investigation Token<\/strong>\u00a0depending on the detection age. Tokens are sold in pre-packaged combinations (for example, 2 Validation Tokens with 1 Investigation Token). Contact your partner or WithSecure representative to obtain Elevate tokens.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6 class=\"sub-heading\">Check your token balance<\/h6>\n<p>You can check your available tokens and subscription details at any time under\u00a0<strong>Management &gt; Subscriptions<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/elements.withsecure.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elements Security Center \u2197<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"info-box\"><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0Unused tokens expire at the end of the subscription validity period (12, 24, or 36 months). You escalate the specific detection you want WithSecure&#8217;s threat hunters to investigate \u2014 not your environment as a whole.<\/p>\n<h6 class=\"sub-heading\">Find the detection to escalate<\/h6>\n<ol class=\"numbered-list\">\n<li>Log in to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/elements.withsecure.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elements Security Center \u2197<\/a>\u00a0and go to\u00a0<strong>Detection and Response &gt; Detections<\/strong>\u00a0in the sidebar.<\/li>\n<li>Select the Broad Context Detection you want to escalate. Look for detections you are uncertain about \u2014 where the risk is unclear or the consequences of acting (or not acting) incorrectly are significant.<\/li>\n<li>On the detection detail page, select\u00a0<strong>Elevate to WithSecure<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h6 class=\"sub-heading\">Add context before submitting<\/h6>\n<p>When submitting, provide as much context as you can. This directly speeds up the analyst&#8217;s response:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Describe why this detection caught your attention<\/li>\n<li>Note anything specific you want the analyst to validate<\/li>\n<li>Mention any relevant background about the device or user involved<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6 class=\"sub-heading\">How tokens are consumed<\/h6>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>If the detection is\u00a0<strong>less than 7 days old<\/strong>, a\u00a0<strong>Validation Token<\/strong>\u00a0is used. The analyst begins with a Threat Validation.<\/li>\n<li>If the detection is\u00a0<strong>7 days old or older<\/strong>, an\u00a0<strong>Investigation Token<\/strong>\u00a0is used directly, as deeper analysis is needed to reconstruct the event.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"info-box\"><strong>Target response time:<\/strong>\u00a0WithSecure aims to begin the Threat Validation phase within 2 hours of receiving your request. The service operates 24\/7\/365. This is a collaborative process \u2014 your responses to analyst questions are an important part of reaching a fast, accurate result.<\/p>\n<h6 class=\"sub-heading\">Threat Validation<\/h6>\n<p>The analyst reviews the detection using up to 7 days of telemetry from your environment alongside WithSecure&#8217;s global threat intelligence. A dialogue takes place via the Elevate case in Elements Security Center \u2014 monitor the case and respond promptly to any questions.<\/p>\n<p>The detection will be categorized as one of the following:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li><strong>Genuine threat<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 A confirmed attack. The analyst explains findings and provides immediate response guidance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Suspicious \u2014 act upon<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Suspicious activity that warrants action. The analyst recommends next steps.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Suspicious \u2014 acceptable risk<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Suspicious but consistent with known risky behaviour in your environment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>False positive<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 The detection is a result of benign activity triggering a rule incorrectly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6 class=\"sub-heading\">Requesting a Threat Investigation (optional)<\/h6>\n<p>If the Threat Validation confirms a genuine threat or leaves significant questions unanswered, you can request a\u00a0<strong>Threat Investigation<\/strong>. This uses an Investigation Token and involves deeper analysis: examining telemetry anomalies, process behaviour, and cross-referencing against global threat intelligence to build a full timeline and suggest containment actions.<\/p>\n<div class=\"info-box\"><strong>Major Incident Threshold:<\/strong>\u00a0If the investigation reaches a point where the incident is too large or complex for Elevate to handle alone \u2014 for example, more than five devices are compromised or a business-critical asset is affected \u2014 the analyst will recommend escalating to a full\u00a0<strong>Incident Response<\/strong>\u00a0engagement. This is a separate service and must be acquired independently.<\/div>\n<p>Results from both phases appear immediately in Elements Security Center once complete.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
