Real-time scanning will automatically start when you run a file from an email, and will scan it before allowing the file to open or execute.

Elements Endpoint Protection and Client Security protect your devices but does not scan email traffic at the mailbox level. For mailboxes hosted in Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online), the product for this is WithSecure Elements Collaboration Protection. Elements Collaboration Protection analyses attachments and links in emails that users both receive and send, checking for malware, ransomware and phishing.

It connects cloud-to-cloud to your Microsoft 365 tenant, so no server or extra software is needed, and if you have an Elements product already, Elements Collaboration Protection can be managed from the same Elements Security Center you already use.

You can read more about the features of Elements Collaboration Protection here: Features | Elements Collaboration Protection | Latest | WithSecure User Guides

If you would like a trial or a quote for Elements Collaboration Protection, you can contact your WithSecure partner

                </details>

                            October 15, 2026

What is the WithSecure policy on running endpoint protection products on EOL Microsoft Windows operating systems?

                            <details class="wp-block-content-list__details">

Read more

Issue:

We are using an end-of-life (EOL) Microsoft Windows Operating System (OS) on our endpoints for which Microsoft is ending or has ended extended support.

What impact does this have on my servers and workstations running an WithSecure endpoint client like:

Elements Endpoint Protection (Elements Agent)

Client Security

Server Security

Resolution:

If you continue using the WithSecure endpoint protection client product on the operating system that has reached end-of-life, WithSecure cannot guarantee proper operation of the product on this particular operating system platform, especially if resolving a particular problem would require support from the operating system vendor (Microsoft). Also, a future product update from WithSecure can remove support for the not-supported operating system.

WithSecure supports only Microsoft Operating Systems which are still supported by Microsoft. For example, we do not support Windows 10 anymore.

You can see the currently supported OS versions from the user guide for each product in the System Requirements section.
