{"id":4739,"date":"2026-10-07T09:45:45","date_gmt":"2026-10-07T06:45:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/support.withsecure.com\/?post_type=support_article&#038;p=4739"},"modified":"2026-10-07T09:45:45","modified_gmt":"2026-10-07T06:45:45","slug":"browsing-protection-is-missing-on-elements-endpoint-protection-for-computers-mac-with-error-security-application-not-found","status":"publish","type":"support_article","link":"https:\/\/support.withsecure.com\/en\/support-articles\/browsing-protection-is-missing-on-elements-endpoint-protection-for-computers-mac-with-error-security-application-not-found\/","title":{"rendered":"Browsing Protection is missing on Elements Endpoint Protection for Computers (Mac) with error Security application not found"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Issue:<\/h3>\n<p>Browsing Protection by WithSecure is missing from Firefox on Elements Endpoint Protection for Computers (MacOs) with the error &quot;Security application not found&quot;.\u00a0 On macOS there&#39;s a constant popup about missing Firefox browser extension.<\/p>\n<h3>Resolution:<\/h3>\n<p>If you receive the error &quot;Security application not found&quot; and Browsing Protection by WithSecure browser extension is missing from Firefox, manually install the Browsing Protection by WithSecure extension for Firefox.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>To set up the browser extension for Firefox:<\/li>\n<li>Select the product icon in the menu bar.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Settings&#8230;<\/strong> from the menu.<\/li>\n<li>Open the<strong> Secure Browsing<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Install browser extension<\/strong>.\n<ol>\n<li>The <strong>Browsing protection installation <\/strong>window opens.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>From the drop-down, select <strong>Firefox<\/strong> and then <strong>Install now<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Add<\/strong>.\n<ol>\n<li>Once the extension is installed, a user consent dialog opens. The browser extension requires your permission to access information about the web addresses you visit.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Accept.<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Note<\/strong>: If you decline to grant the permission, you will not be able to use the extension and Browsing protection cannot block harmful websites nor show search result ratings.
