{"id":7995,"date":"2026-10-15T15:53:00","date_gmt":"2026-10-15T12:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/support.withsecure.com\/?post_type=support_article&#038;p=7995"},"modified":"2026-10-15T15:53:00","modified_gmt":"2026-10-15T12:53:00","slug":"an-applications-internet-connection-is-interrupted-when-connection-control-in-client-security-is-activated","status":"publish","type":"support_article","link":"https:\/\/support.withsecure.com\/en\/support-articles\/an-applications-internet-connection-is-interrupted-when-connection-control-in-client-security-is-activated\/","title":{"rendered":"An application&#8217;s internet connection is interrupted when Connection Control in Client Security is activated"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Issue:<\/h3>\n<p>An applications internet connection is interrupted or blocked when Connection Control in Client Security is activated when user enter a website that has been marked as a banking site.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>How do we add the application as trusted so that it can stay connected to the internet when Connection Control protection is active?\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Resolution:<\/h3>\n<p>The Connection Control blocks unsigned applications from connecting to the internet when the protection gets activated when a user visits a banking website.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>You can first try to disable the <strong>Disconnect untrusted apps <\/strong>setting for Connection Control:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the Policy Manager Console<\/li>\n<li>Select a host or policy domain from the domain tree<\/li>\n<li>Open the\u00a0<strong>Settings <\/strong>tab<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to <strong>Windows &gt; Browsing protection <\/strong>settings page<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Connection Control <\/strong>section, disable the <strong>Disconnect untrusted apps <\/strong>setting<\/li>\n<li>Distribute the policy (Ctrl + D)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the application would still get blocked from accessing the internet when Connection Control is activated, you can exclude the application from all scans.
