How to use Elements Exposure Management Discovery scan as an asset update source for a Network Scan (System Scan)? How to have assets (devices, computers, servers, IoT) automatically added to a Scan Group when they are discovered in a Discovery scan?\u00a0<\/p>\n

Resolution:<\/h3>\n

Steps to adding a Discovery Scan:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Log in to the Elements Security Center portal<\/li>\n
  2. Navigate to the Security Configurations > Scans > Discovery\u00a0Scans<\/strong> page\u00a0<\/li>\n
  3. Click Add Discovery scan<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n
  4. Select Port Scan and add the IP range and give the scan a unique name<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Select Scan node that has been installed to that environment (or use Cloud scan node)<\/li>\n
  6. Click Next<\/strong><\/li>\n
  7. Select the Discovery scan template\u00a0<\/li>\n
  8. Click Next<\/strong><\/li>\n
  9. Add any notification recipients and then finish adding the discovery scan<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    After scan has been added to the Discovery Scans<\/strong> page, click the start button<\/strong> on the Discovery scans page on the right side of that Discovery scan. The scan will be queued and initialized.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    After Discovery Scan has been completed, you can see the results by clicking the name of the Discovery Scan.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    To use that Discovery Scan as the automatic asset update source for a network scan:<\/p>\n

    1. Go to the Security configurations > Scans > <\/strong>Network Scans<\/strong> page<\/li>\n
    2. Click Add scan group<\/strong><\/li>\n
    3. Add name to the Network scan\u00a0<\/li>\n
    4. Click Next\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
    5. Select scan node that should be used\u00a0<\/li>\n
    6. Enable "Asset update sources<\/strong>" -> click Add source<\/strong> -> in source instance<\/strong> select the recently created Discovery Scan (trigger can be "once a discovery scan is completed<\/strong>"\u00a0<\/li>\n
    7. Click Next<\/strong><\/li>\n
    8. Do the same for Web Scans as you did for System Scans (or you can disable Web Scan altogether)<\/li>\n
    9. Click Next<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n
    10. Finish creating the scan\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      To run the created Network Scan, click on the box on the left side of the network scan name (a menu will appear) and click Start Scanning<\/strong>
