{"id":4447,"date":"2026-06-08T17:52:24","date_gmt":"2026-06-08T14:52:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/support.withsecure.com\/en\/?post_type=support_article&#038;p=4447"},"modified":"2026-06-08T17:52:24","modified_gmt":"2026-06-08T14:52:24","slug":"client-security-or-server-security-deepguard-blocks-application-despite-the-file-sha-1-hash-and-file-path-is-excluded","status":"publish","type":"support_article","link":"https:\/\/support.withsecure.com\/fi\/support-articles\/client-security-or-server-security-deepguard-blocks-application-despite-the-file-sha-1-hash-and-file-path-is-excluded\/","title":{"rendered":"Client Security or Server Security DeepGuard blocks application despite the file SHA-1 hash and file path is excluded"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Issue:<\/h3>\n<p>After the file SHA-1 hash and file path is excluded in Client Security or Server Security versions 14 or 15, DeepGuard continues to block the application.<\/p>\n<h3>Resolution:<\/h3>\n<p>You can exclude a file or folder from Real-time scanning and Deepguard by following the steps below:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log into Policy Manager Console<\/li>\n<li>Click on\u00a0<b>Settings<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<b>Standard view<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<b>Real-time scanning<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Scroll down to Files and applications excluded from scanning<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<b>Do not scan the following files and applications<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<b>Add<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Enter the full path for each files, folder or SHA-1 of the application.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Select\u00a0<b>File path<\/b>\u00a0if the file that you want to exclude always uses the same path.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<b>Folder path<\/b>\u00a0if you want to exclude all files in a specific folder.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<b>Application SHA-1<\/b>\u00a0if the path for the file that you want to exclude may vary across different hosts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Note:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are using F-Secure Client Security 13.10, kindly upgrade to the latest supported version\u00a0since DeepGuard exclusions do not work in the 13.10 version.<\/li>\n<li>Wildcard exclusions are only applicable for Real-time scanning. For DeepGuard exclusions, kindly use file or folder path.<\/li>\n<li>F-Secure Security Cloud (ORSP) has a higher priority compared to SHA-1 exclusions.
