Issue:<\/h3>\n

How to set Elements Endpoint Protection (EPP for Computers or EPP for Servers) real-time scanning to report only mode, so that it will only monitor and not decide action on infection automatically? We want to manually device what to do with the detected files.<\/p>\n

Resolution:<\/h3>\n

The Real-time scanning feature can be set to report only so that it will not automatically try to delete, disinfect, quarantine, rename or block files.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Follow these steps to set Real-time scanning to report only:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Log in to the Elements Security Center Portal\u00a0<\/li>\n
  2. Go to the Security configurations > <\/strong>Profiles<\/b> page<\/li>\n
  3. Click on the profile that is in use on the devices<\/li>\n
  4. Go to the Real-time scanning<\/b> settings page<\/li>\n
  5. Scroll down to the\u00a0File scanning<\/b> section<\/li>\n
  6. Set the Action on infection<\/b> as Ask after scan<\/strong><\/li>\n
  7. Click Save profile<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Note: Files which have been classified as riskware <\/strong>or spyware <\/strong>have their own action selections in the File scanning <\/strong>section. They can also be set to Ask after scan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    If you do not want scheduled scans or manually started scans to automatically device action on infection, you can set its Action on infection <\/strong>also to be Ask after scan<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

    1. Go to the Manual scanning <\/strong>settings page in the profile<\/li>\n
    2. Scroll down to the Manual scanning <\/strong>section<\/li>\n
    3. Set Action on infection <\/strong>as Ask after scan<\/strong><\/li>\n
    4. Click Save profile<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      DeepGuard, DataGuard or Web Traffic Scanning features cannot be set to any report only status. All the blocks and detections will be visible in the Elements Endpoint Protection Portal on the\u00a0Security events<\/b> page:<\/p>\n

      1. Log in to the Elements Security Center Portal<\/li>\n
      2. Go to the Events > <\/strong>Security events<\/b> page (from the menu on the left)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
