{"id":4136,"date":"2026-06-08T18:00:58","date_gmt":"2026-06-08T15:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/support.withsecure.com\/en\/?post_type=support_article&#038;p=4136"},"modified":"2026-06-08T18:00:58","modified_gmt":"2026-06-08T15:00:58","slug":"new-linux-security2024-03-18-offline-database-update-fails","status":"publish","type":"support_article","link":"https:\/\/support.withsecure.com\/fr\/support-articles\/new-linux-security2024-03-18-offline-database-update-fails\/","title":{"rendered":"New Linux Security(2024-03-18) offline database update fails"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Issue:<\/h3>\n<p>New Linux Security(2024-03-18)\u00a0 fails offline database update<\/p>\n<h3>Resolution:<\/h3>\n<p>New Linux Security(2024-03-18)\u00a0\u00a0update includes changes which will affect the procedure to install future malware definition or product updates from ZIP archives.\u00a0 Please continue reading if you are currently making use of ZIP archives to install updates using the\u00a0<em>offline-update<\/em>\u00a0program.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0After updating your product installation to the new version, follow these steps to prepare update ZIP archives in the future:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log on to the endpoint on which you intend to install updates from a ZIP archive.<\/li>\n<li>Run the command<br \/>\t<code>\/opt\/f-secure\/fsbg\/bin\/withsecure-migrator status<\/code><\/li>\n<li>Check the last line of output from the above command.<\/li>\n<li>If the system reports that the command does not exist, or the command reports \u201cnot-performed\u201d or \u201cnot-ready\u201d, you can prepare a new\u00a0<em>f-secure-updates.zip\u00a0<\/em>archive for updates by using any version of\u00a0<em>fspm-definitions-update-tool<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>channels.json<\/em>\u00a0files you might already have available, and install the updates as before from the<em>\u00a0f-secure-updates.zip<\/em>\u00a0file using the\u00a0<em>offline-update<\/em>\u00a0program.\u00a0<strong>Before starting to prepare another ZIP archive later, however, return to step 1 of these instructions.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If the command at step 2 reports &quot;migrated&quot;, the procedure for installing the updates changes as follows:\n<ol>\n<li>First, please verify that you are using a recent enough version of\u00a0<em>fspm-definitions-update-tool<\/em>\u00a0for creating update archives.\n<ul>\n<li>If you are using\u00a0<em>fspm-definitions-update-tool<\/em>\u00a0from a Policy Manager Server 16 installation, you are already at a new enough version.<\/li>\n<li>If you are not using Policy Manager 16, or are unsure about the version of\u00a0<em>fspm-definitions-update-tool,<\/em>\u00a0download the latest version of\u00a0<em>fspm-definitions-update-tool<\/em>\u00a0from the product download page, and extract the files to a directory.<br \/>\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/community.withsecure.com\/home\/leaving?allowTrusted=1&amp;target=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.withsecure.com%2Fen%2Fsupport%2Fproduct-support%2Fbusiness-suite%2Flinux-security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Support &#8211; Linux Security<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Second, download the latest version of the\u00a0<em>channels.json<\/em>\u00a0file to use to configure\u00a0<em>fspm-definitions-update-tool:<\/em><br \/>\t\thttps:\/\/download.f-secure.com\/corpro\/ls64\/current\/channels.json<br \/>\t\tAs before, replace the channels.json file under\u00a0<em>fspm-definitions-update-tool&#39;<\/em>s\u00a0<em>conf\/<\/em>\u00a0subdirectory with the downloaded file, remove the\u00a0<em>data\/<\/em>\u00a0directory if it exists.<\/li>\n<li>Run the<em>\u00a0fspm-definitions-update-tool\u00a0<\/em>program.<em>\u00a0\u00a0fspm-definitions-update-tool<\/em>\u00a0will create a fresh\u00a0<em>data\/<\/em>\u00a0subdirectory with two ZIP archives:\u00a0<em>f-secure-updates.zip<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>withsecure-updates.zip<\/em>. \u00a0<strong>You must now use the\u00a0<\/strong><em><strong>withsecure-updates.zip<\/strong><\/em><strong>\u00a0file to install updates on the endpoint using the\u00a0<\/strong><em><strong>offline-update<\/strong><\/em><strong>\u00a0program.<\/strong><br \/>\t\t(The\u00a0<em>f-secure-updates.zip<\/em>\u00a0file should no longer be used for installing updates on that endpoint.\u00a0 When run,\u00a0<em>fspm-definitions-update-tool<\/em>\u00a0will however continue to create this file to support packaging updates for endpoints which still need this file.)<\/li>\n<li>After installing the product updates for the first time from the\u00a0<em>withsecure-updates.zip<\/em>\u00a0file on an endpoint, it won&#39;t be necessary to verify the status of the installation again on that endpoint (step 2);
