How to create a Real-Time Scanning or DeepGuard exclusion for a file or folder for Elements Endpoint Protection (EPP for Computers or EPP for Servers) when the SHA-1 of the application changes with each update?<\/p>\n

Resolution:<\/h3>\n

You can exclude a file or folder from all security measures by following these steps:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Log in to the Elements Security Center:\u00a0https:\/\/elements.withsecure.com<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Navigate to the Security configurations ><\/strong> Profiles\u00a0<\/b>page<\/li>\n
  3. Choose the\u00a0profile which the device is using<\/li>\n
  4. Go to the Scanning settings<\/b>\u00a0page<\/li>\n
  5. Scroll down to the Global exclusions<\/strong> from all security scans <\/b>section and click\u00a0Add exclusion<\/b><\/li>\n
  6. In the Path field add the:\n
      \n
    • Full path for the application if you want to exclude a specific application<\/li>\n
    • Folder path if you want to exclude a folder and its sub folders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Click\u00a0Save<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Note that you can use wildcards when creating the exclusions:
      For example:\u00a0C:\\Users\\*\\AppData\\Local\\test\\\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

      This would exclude the AppData\\Local\\test\\ folder and all its sub folders for all users.<\/p>\n

      If you want to locally on the device itself create the exclusion:<\/p>\n

      1. Open the Elements Agent\u00a0user interface on the device<\/li>\n
      2. Go to\u00a0Settings\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n
      3. Go to the\u00a0Malware protection\u00a0<\/b>settings page<\/li>\n
      4. Click\u00a0view quarantine\u00a0<\/b>(enter administrator username and password if needed)<\/li>\n
      5. Select the\u00a0Excluded\u00a0<\/b>tab<\/li>\n
      6. Click\u00a0Add new\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n
      7. Add the file path or folder path<\/li>\n

        DeepGuard can also be excluded using the SHA-1 of the process:<\/p>\n
