Issue:
How to install Linux Security 64 in an offline or isolated environment? Is it possible for Linux Security 64 to operate in an environment without any internet connection?
Resolution:
It is possible to install Linux Security 64 in an isolated environment without the internet connection and without the connectivity to the Policy Manager Server.
In order to achieve this, you need to enter "0.0.0.0" as the Policy Manager Server address when exporting the installation package from the Policy Manager Console for stand-alone deployment on the client, which is not connected to the Policy Manager Server.
First you need to create a new policy domain in the Policy Manager Console domain tree where you enter the 0.0.0.0 address:
- Log in to the Policy Manager Console
- Right-click Root in the policy domain tree
- Click New policy domain
- Enter name, for example "Linux Stand-alone"
- Go to the Settings tab
- Navigate to Linux > Centralized management
- Enter in the Policy Manager Server address field: 0.0.0.0
- Distribute the policy (Ctrl + D)
Now you can export the Linux Security 64 installer and select the newly created policy domain as the intial policy:
- Go to the Installation tab
- Click Installation packages
- Select the wsls64.jar package from the list and click Export
- Enter the license keycode for Linux Security 64 and click Next
- In the Initial policy stage, select Policy for and select the Linux Stand-alone policy domain and click OK
- Click Finish
After you have created the Linux Security 64 installer, you also need to create the content package (withsecure-updates.zip) for isolated environments that includes all the malware definitions and engine updates. Instructions how to create the content package for isolated linux environments can be found in the Linux Security 64 user guide: Creating the content package for isolated environments | Linux Security 64 | Latest | WithSecure User Guides
Once it is done, please run the following command to install the product on an isolated client using the created content package (withsecure-updates.zip).
# bash linuxsecurity-pm-installer/linuxsecurity-installer –package=/PATH/TO/withsecure-updates.zip –automatic-updates=none
