How to remove the limitation for Data Mining result queries in Policy Manager?

Issue:

Creating a report via Policy Manager Data Mining can only yield up results up to the limit of 10000.

Resolution:

You may edit the Policy Manager Advance Configuration settings to increase the limit. Note: increasing the limit can cause performance issues.

The property name for this setting is called "searchHardLimit" and its default value is 10000:
-DsearchHardLimit=10000

On Windows

The Java system properties for Policy Manager Server (PMS) can be specified via the Windows registry:

  1. Run Regedit as administrator.
  2. Create the following string registry key: HKLM\SOFTWARE\WithSecure\Policy Manager\Policy Manager Server\additional_java_args
  3. Specify the Java system properties in the following format:
    -DsearchHardLimit=10000

Change the value 10000 to something higher. If you want to specify multiple properties, use space as the delimiter. Property names and values are case-sensitive. An example:

    -Dh2ConsoleEnabled=true -DforbidDownloadingPublicKey=true
  4. Restart the Policy Manager Server service (net stop wspms / net start wspms)  to make the new configuration settings take effect.
