Elements DeepGuard feature is affecting performance of an application performance

Issue:

When Elements Endpoint Protection Agent is installed on a Windows computer, DeepGuard is affecting the performance of an application. Application becomes slow or does not start.

How to create a DeepGuard exclusion? 

Resolution:

To workaround the issue, you can create a DeepGuard exclusion for the application file using the file path, or the SHA1 hash.

To create a file exclusion for the process:

1. Log in to the Elements Security Center portal
2. Navigate to the Security configurations > Profiles page
3. Open the profile that is in use on the device
4. Go to the Scanning settings page
5. In the Global exclusions from all security scans, click Add exclusion
6. Enter the full path to the process
7. Click Save

To create a SHA-1 hash exclusion for DeepGuard:

1. Log in to the Elements Security Center portal
2. Navigate to the Security configurations > Profiles page
3. Open the profile that is in use on the device
4. Go to the Real-time scanning settings page
5. Scroll down to the DeepGuard settings section
6. Click Add rule
7. Enter the SHA-1 of the application
8. Click Save profile
