Elements Agent installation fails due to „A newer version of this product is already installed“ error

Issue:
Elements Agent for Windows fails with the following error shown in the Windows Application Event logs:
Windows Application Event log shows for example error: Product: Elements Agent — A newer version of this product is already installed
Resolution:
If you are using the ElementsAgentOfflineinstaller.msi to install Elements Agent, then that installer does not include any kind of sidegrade or uninstallation of incompatible or conflicting products. You will ened to uninstall the previous antivirus product installation from the computer before continuing with the Elements Agent installation.
Conflicting WithSecure products can be uninstalled using the WithSecure uninstallation tool: https://support.withsecure.com/en/support/support-tools
Note: Tamper protection feature must be disabled for the previous WithSecure product installation for you to be able to run the uninstallation tool.
