Why is the labels column empty for certain devices in the Elements Portal’s Environment > Devices list?

Issue:

Why is the labels column empty for certain devices in the Elements Security Center Portal's Environment > Devices list? From where does the label value come from and what is it used for? 

Resolution:

The Label value in the Elements Security Center Portal is something that an administrator can themselves assign to a device or a group of devices. The label can be used to identify a specific device or a group of devices. For example, if some devices belong to a group, you can assign the group a label:

1. Log in to the Elements Security Center Portal
2. Go to the Environment > Devices page
3. Select the devices (a menu will pop-up)
4. Click Manage labels > Add labels
5. Enter the label value and click Add

Once the devices have a label, you can use the filter to show only devices belonging to a specific label:

1. Click the filter icon in the top right corner of the Devices page
2. Create the filter: Labels – equals – <label name>
3. Click Apply
