Linux Security 64 version 26.2.516 is now available. This release includes the following changes:

• Fixed: Migration from Policy Manager to Elements no longer fails in environments that require an HTTP proxy.
• New: The installer now supports the --installation-tags command-line option, which lets you assign device tags for use in the Elements portal during installation.

• Fixed log rotation for the scanning service.

New early access update for Linux Security 64 has been released (2026-05-04)

New early access update for Linux Security 64 (version 26.1.512) has been released. Early access updates are an opt-in mechanism for experiencing new Linux Security 64 versions before they get distributed to all users. This update includes the following changes:

• Fixed an issue where activating the agent with automatic updates disabled could cause activation to time out or result in missing components.
• Installation-time connectivity check timeouts no longer cause the installation to abort; the installer will now attempt to continue and complete.
• Fixed classification of Oracle Linux 7 for installation and updates.
• Added a check during activation to verify that existing installation directories have correct permissions and do not contain symbolic links.
• Adopted a new version numbering scheme in the format YY.SEQUENCE.BUILD (e.g. 26.1.512).
• Added support for installing on Ubuntu 26.04.

FSBG update version 1.0.930 has been released. FSBG is a component of Linux Security 64. This release includes the following changes:

• Improved on-access scanning behavior under high system load. Previously, bursts of rapid file access could overwhelm the scanning subsystem and lead to file access failures. The updated behavior applies controlled backpressure—intentionally slowing certain filesystem operations when overload is detected—to prevent scanning saturation and maintain reliable file access.
• Reduced the rate at which available-memory telemetry is reported to the backend. The previous reporting cadence generated unnecessary traffic with limited operational benefit.
• The scanning service now runs under a non-privileged user account and incorporates additional hardening and sandboxing measures to further improve security.
• On-access scanning now skips the special tracefs filesystem, which has never been compatible with scanning.
• Update log entries now consistently use UTC timestamps.

New Linux Security 64 and Elements Agent installers have been released (2026-01-14)

The new product installers released are as follows:

• Linux Security 64 Policy Manager installation package version 5.0.15, compatible with Policy Manager Server version 16.00 and above.
• WithSecure Elements Agent for Servers.

The updates fix several installation issues and remove compatibility with no longer supported Policy Manager versions.

If you have already successfully installed the product, there is no need to download or install these packages. The product installer is only needed for the initial setup process and does not need to be kept up to date afterwards.

Elements Agent for Linux and Linux Security 64 are now available for both AMD64 and ARM64 architectures on the latest distribution versions:

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 10
• Rocky Linux 10
• AlmaLinux 10
• Oracle Linux 10
• Debian 13

Note: Full system memory dump remote operation is not yet supported for the RHEL 10, Rocky Linux 10, AlmaLinux 10, and Oracle Linux 10 distributions.
