How to prevent admin users from making changes to the allowed websites on Elements Endpoint Protection?
Last updated
Issue:
How can I prevent local administrator users from making changes to the allowed website URL addresses for Elements Endpoint Protection?
Resolution:
You can block admins and other users from adding web pages to the Allowed or Denied list by locking the setting on the Elements profile:
You can do so by following the steps below:
- Log in to the Elements Security Center portal
- Go to the Security configurations > Profiles page
- Open the profile you want to edit
- Go to the Browsing Protection settings page
- Disable Allow user to continue to blocked pages
- Click Save profile
When this setting is disabled, even users with administrator rights will not be able to continue to the blocked page, since the Allow website on this computer button will not be shown.
You can also block administrators from manually adding the site to the allowed sites list:
- Log in to the Elements Endpoint Protection portal
- Go to the Security configurations > Profiles page
- Open the profile you want to edit
- Go to the End user rights settings page
- In the Browsing Protection setting, lock Allowed and denied sites
- Click Save profile
