Issue:
How to change the subscription key of Elements Linux Protection? For example if:
- We want to change the from a EPP subscription key to EDR + EPP subscription key
- We want to move device from one company to another
Can the subscription key of an Elements Linux Protection installation be changed without reinstallation?
Resolution:
The Elements Linux Protection subscription key cannot be changed locally on the Linux device without reinstalling the product.
However, the Change subscription operation from the Elements Security Center portal can be used to change the subscription key of an Elements Linux Protection device.
How to change the subscription key if both old and new subscription key reside within the same Elements company:
- Log in to the Elements Security Center portal
- Navigate to the Environment > Devices page
- Select the Linux Protection device from the list (an actions menu will appear)
- Click Change subscription
- Choose the new subscription key
- Click Change subscription
After starting the operation, the Linux Protection installation will immediately start using the new subscription key the next time the device connects to the Elements portal.
If the new subscription key does not reside within the same Elements company account, but it resides within another company that is under the same reseller partner, the partner can change the subscription key of the device from the Solution Provider level in the Elements Security Center. Partner should follow these steps:
- Log in to the Elements Security Center portal
- navigate to the Environment > Devices page
- Choose the Solution Provider level from the Scope selector drop-down menu so that you see all the customer devices at the same time
- Select the customer's Linux Protection device for which you want to change the subscription key
- Note: you can create a Company – Equals – <company-name> filter to find the device easier. Or use the search field to search for device.
- Click Change subscription
- Choose the new subscription key from the drop-down menu
- Click Change subscription
