Getting the error “OTP code must have 6 numeric characters” during login to the Elements portal
Last updated
Issue:
When logging in to the Elements Security Center portal, I get the following error after entering the two-factor authentication (2FA / MFA) one-time code: "OTP code must have 6 numeric characters".
Resolution:
If you have entered fewer or more than 6 characters, you might have viewed the wrong entry in your authenticator application. The name of the Elements instance in the authenticator app should be named "WithSecure" and it generates a 6-digit code by default.
You need to ensure that you have selected the correct instance in the authenticator app to generate the one-time code for Elements login.
